Since the Studio opened, Carol has been concerned
that our clients’ Pilates practice has been limited to the class
times that best fit their busy schedules...meaning, that often
a particular client will attend the same class week in and week
out. As a result, that client may only be experiencing a Tower or Mat class, never getting an opportunity to benefit from the
use of the Reformer, Chair, or Ladder Barrel. So, in January 2006,
the light bulb went on and Carol had an epiphany that is reflected
in our Revolutionary Class Schedule!!
Time, Instructor and Class Level remain the same, class content will rotate each week. Meaning...over a 5 week
period, if a client attends the 9:30 am Monday class, he/she will
experience each approach: Mat, Reformer, Tower, Chair, Ladder Barrel/Ball.
Each day of the week will have a different rotation, as well.
This will allow our clients to further develop at new levels while
giving our Instructors a new view of the clients’ practice. This
approach can only be offered at Pilates and More since
we have an extensively equipped Studio with 5 of each piece of

New clients !!!
For best results we highly recommend that new clients
take at least three privates before joining a class.
It is important to have an understanding of Pilates’ principles,
fundamentals and familiarity with each piece of equipment
to practice safely and effectively.
All classes and private sessions are 55 minutes.
- A non-impact
method of exercise created by Joseph Pilates to uniformly develop
the body. This requires the re-patterning of muscles and skeletal
development as a result of habits, occupation, injuries, hobbies/sports,
and lifestyles. Participants will notice improved posture, energy,
strength, flexibility, endurance and often relief of pain.
main difference between yoga and Pilates is the absence of held
poses. In Pilates, exercises are repeated 3 to 10 times. Pilates' breathing technique has an expiration focus, while most yoga practices focus on inhalation.
Mat - The movements
in this class are done without the aid of equipment. The participant
relies on his/her body weight, movement and gravity... reinforcing the principles
of the Method: Centering, Control and Concentration, Precision of
Movement, Flowing Movement, and Breath. On occasion, participants
use Dynabands, Magic Circles, or Physioballs.
Classes - These
classes use state-of-the-art Peak Pilates equipment:
Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, and Wunda Chair.
